I never believed it would happen to me...

...until it did.

We all experience those "once in a lifetime" moments.  All of those unique moments are worth celebrating.  And every celebration needs a plan.

For many years prior to opening Pigwidgeon Events, I worked as a lawyer.  Though I enjoyed the challenges of the detail-obsessed, fast-paced, high-pressure culture of practicing law, I had a not-so-secret passion that consumed many of my evenings and weekends.  I loved planning celebrations for my friends and family.  Big or small, backyard or ballroom, DIY or multi-vendor affairs, I thrived on crafting stylish themed decor, choosing tasty food and beverages, cultivating meaningful play lists, and then finally, watching the guests as they joyfully celebrated the special moments of each other's lives.

Now, I have the best job in the world.  Every day I get to work with the people I love most to craft, create, cultivate, and celebrate with and for our clients as we plan the events that mark their "once in a lifetime" moments.

Jess has been happily married to her best friend for more than twenty-five years.  She is the mother of two amazing, creative, involved kids.  When she is not party planning or playing with flowers, she enjoys cooking, reading, obsessing over Pinterest, and traveling.  She resides in Columbia, Maryland.

We want to know all about you.

We only plan a limited number of events every year so that we can give each client the individual time and attention necessary to create a truly special celebration.  We consider our clients our family.  Therefore, each and every event we plan is meaningful for us.  The details matter.  The more we know about your likes and dislikes, your background, and your story, the more we can incorporate "you" into your event.  We are wholly invested in going above and beyond your expectations to make sure that your special celebration is exactly what you want it to be.

Sheryl is a retired nurse.  After almost fifty years of marriage and raising five daughters, she is now the organizational force that brings the Pigwidgeon plans to life.  When not wielding a nail gun or making a list, Sheryl can often be found reading, watching sports, or adding to her incredibly extensive family trees on Ancestry.com.

Don't worry.  Leave everything up to us.

We understand what your event means to you.  We believe love comes in all ages, shapes, genders, colors, and abilities.  We respect the complicated bonds of love, family, friendship, faith, and service.  If you have concerns, tell us.  Let us do the running, the worrying, the navigating, the clock-watching, and the cleaning-up.  You just sit back, relax, and enjoy your day.

We are so grateful that you would choose us to share your joy on your special day.

Phil, after retiring from careers as a Navy Chief and Nuclear Engineer, now supports wife, Sheryl, and daughter, Jess, by eagerly pitching in to assist with anything that needs to be done on event days.  Otherwise you can find him tending his garden, tinkering with his cars, or watching classic movies.
